Kurt, Chemiker, * Königshütte 10. 7. 1902, ✝ Köln 20. 6. 1958; 1934-36 Professor in Kiel, bis 1940 Forschungsleiter der I. G. Farbenindustrie AG in Leverkusen, danach Professor in Köln; arbeitete u. a. über organische Synthesen, die Polymerisation von Butadien und die Stereochemie. Alder war Schüler von O. Diels, mit dem er für die Entwicklung der Diensynthese 1950 den Nobelpreis für Chemie erhielt.
